Trees as Spiritual Self Portraits

Trees as Spiritual Self Portraits is part of an emergent art therapy and nature centered based curriculum that Sara is creating. Trees, are often seen as symbols or representations of the self within an art therapy context. To learn more about the origin of the tree as a self-symbol, Sara is conducting a phenomenological grounded theory research approach, integrating a cross-cultural and interdisciplinary study of globalized origins of trees as representations of the self. In doing so, the role of the tree as spiritual symbol emerged.
